Your Batch Was Just the Beginning.

Dear Nopanians,

Remember how quickly news travelled in school?

A match being planned. A friend’s birthday. Something happening after class. Nobody wanted to miss out—and somebody always made sure you knew.

I would love to bring that excitement to our alumni life: the feeling that something is happening, your friends will be there and you should be part of it.

I am Shashi Kant Soni, Batch of 2006, and I am delighted to serve as Secretary of the Nopany Alumni Association for 2026–27.

Here is what excites me most about this role: a single introduction at NAA can connect people whose school years were decades apart. Give them a few minutes, and they are comparing teachers, exchanging stories and discovering mutual friends. By the next gathering, they are looking for each other.

Your circle grows. Your school feels closer. And NAA becomes part of your life.

That is the experience I want more members to enjoy.

So, consider this a personal invitation—especially if you have been reading the group messages, looking at the photographs and thinking, “I must attend something soon.”

Make the next one yours.

Come for the cricket, the music, the celebration or the conversation. Bring a batchmate who keeps promising to join. Introduce yourself to someone you have never met. You may arrive knowing three people and leave with ten reasons to return.

And if you enjoy making things happen, we have plenty to talk about.

Have an idea for an event? A talent we should know about? A contact who could help? An hour to spare? Tell us. Some of our most memorable experiences can begin with a member saying, “Why don’t we try this?”

As Secretary, my job is to help that enthusiasm find its way into action. Working with our President, Board, Office Bearers and Core Committee, I will focus on keeping you informed, making participation easier and following through on the details that bring a programme together.

There is real satisfaction in seeing an idea become a date on the calendar—and then a room, a ground or a stage full of happy Nopanians. I want our volunteers to share that satisfaction, with clear responsibilities, support from the team and appreciation for the effort they put in.

I also welcome your honest feedback. Tell us what you enjoyed, what could work better and what you would like to see next. A useful suggestion today can make the next experience better for everyone.

To our seniors, bring your stories and guidance. To our younger members, bring your curiosity and fresh ideas. To those who have been away, come back and catch up. There is always room to pull up another chair.

I look forward to a year of lively gatherings, unexpected friendships and members discovering how much they can contribute.

The next chapter of NAA is taking shape.

Come along. Bring someone. Put your hand up for something. Let’s give ourselves plenty to remember.
